A little about me:
Hi, I’m Erika a native of the south, North Carolina to be exact.
In college, I was hell on a hot plate and used to serve meals out of my dorm room. Which earned me the nickname “Southern Soufflé”.
I currently reside in Atlanta GA where the pollen count is constantly above sea-level. (I know that makes no sense but just act like it does)
My Grandmother is a southern cooking icon and owns a restaurant in North Carolina that’s been open 40 years.. Everything about her, from her story to the food is amazing..
I’m an avid hip hop fan, lover of cornbread, sweet tea and Bourbon.
I’m also a terrible speller.
This little place started as a blog to tell you folks about the food I like to cook and sometimes feed to people cause I’m nice like that. Southern soul food is my specialty with fried chicken being my best, cornbread a close second and lima beans my mortal enemy, so you won’t see those here. You will find plenty of cooking with cane syrup, marinading with bourbon and worshiping in the House of Cast Iron Skillets.
And of course lots of Biscuits..
