About Me

A little about me:

I’m Erika

My middle name is Jennine and I really hate it.

I currently reside in Atlanta GA where the pollen count is constantly above sea-level. (I know that makes no sense but just act like it does)

I’m a computer software nerd by day and an imaginary top chef on nights and weekends.

My Grandmother is somewhat of a southern cooking icon and owns a restaurant in North Carolina that's been open 30 years.. Which I think is amazing.

I once went to Hawaii and decided to go snorkeling only to be stung by a jelly fish which as a result, increased my level of existing paranoia and causes me to still have nightmares.

I’m also a terrible speller.

A few of my mortal enemies- The real housewives (all of them), Bad Internet service, Lima Beans , That family whose name starts with K. Ryan Secrest for putting them on t.v. People who don’t use turn signals. AT&T customer service.

Things that make me do cartwheels.- Hot Sauce, Eggo Waffles. Mariah Carey’s twitter, before that Kayne West twitter. (#kanyeshrug), The Walking Dead , BeyoncĂ© and her wind machines. Honey Boo-Boo's mama.  Golden Girl reruns. 2 slices of bread , a banana, and nutella.. not in that order but definitely all together.

About This Blog:

I was born and raised in the south.. on collards washed in the bath tub, moonshine distilled in radiators and lots of grape kool-aid.

So southern soul food is my specialty with fried chicken being my best, cornbread a close second and Lima beans my mortal enemy (as stated already)… so you won’t see those here. I often cook with cane syrup, marinade with bourbon and am a worshipper in the House of Cast Iron Skillets.  This space will contain alot of southern cuisine so I hope you don't mind and that you'll stay awhile.

Thank you so much for stopping by and all of your kind comments.
Except for those few that feel the need to leave rude “anoynomous” comments. They make me want to sharpen my knives and go Nutella Ninja… So Be Nice

These people liked me enough to mention this little space...I think that's dope.
